Website Optimization and SEO

We provide short or extensive analysis of your Website, database or content management system. In particular, we divide our approach in following steps:

1. Contact

A Website is not only a technical issue. It is first a way to communicate with other people or clients. It is a way to present products or activities. Before going into a detailed analysis of log files or to know something about visitors, it is important to know the goal of the website and the target visitors. It is also very important who are the main competitors on the market.

2. Analysis of your Website

After the first contac, we can start by doing some analysis of the Website. The analysis can have different modules depending on the finality of the Website. The following standard analysis can be made:

  • Design: is the website nice to look at? Are their too many colors, different fonts? etc
  • Usability: is the website easy to use? Does it correspond to the target visitors? Even a simulation of a visit can be made. For example: finding a particular product. Then a comparison must be made with similar websites.
  • Visitors: by performing analysis of log file, it is possible to know how many visitors came to your website, where they come from and which content they look at.
  • Content: important elements are: number of pages, size of pages and images, time to load a page, number objects beeing downloaded. Remember that each object (CSS files, HTML pages, images, etc) have latency time to be downloaded.
  • Structure: sitemap of the website. Linking between different pages. Which keywords are linked? How is the visitor flow organized? How is the PageRank flow organized?

3. Your Website and the Web

The third important point is how your website is visible in the Web. Where are the sites that have hyperlinks to you? Are these links relevant? How many pages are found in search engines? To be short, here are the points to look at:

  • Search engines: Number of pages indexed in search engines like Google and Yahoo. Positions of your important pages with respect to keywords queries. (PageRank, Alexa rank may also be relevant)
  • Links from other Websites: number and quality of links from other websites.
  • Blogs and bookmarking: presence of your website in blogs and social bookmarking portals.

4. Optimization and Solutions

Based on previous analysis and measurements, different solutions are proposed to improve the website. Some solutions are really simple and can mutiply the number of visitors by a factor of 10. For example, a website whose content is not indexed in Google can miss up to 80% percent of potential visitors! The solution for being indexed in Google can be as simple as having a sitemap online.
